Mission

01What is JAMA3A trying to achieve?

JAMA3A aims to help Muslims understand that Islam is more than personal rituals. Through research, education and media, we want to restore awareness of Islam as a complete way of life and encourage serious work toward the return of the Khilāfah.

02What do you mean by ‘Islam as a complete way of life’?

Prayer and worship are essential, but Islam also guides how we understand justice, family, society, law and governance. We turn to the Qur’an, the Sunnah and Islamic scholarship for guidance in every part of life.

03What is JAMA3A’s position on the Khilāfah and Sharīʿah?

We believe Muslims have a personal duty, according to their ability, to work toward restoring the Khilāfah. We believe Sharīʿah should be the supreme source of governance and reject replacing it with another ultimate authority.

04How does JAMA3A aim to bring about change?

Our work begins with understanding. We research, explain ideas, produce media and build relationships so Muslims can think seriously about Islamic governance and the future of the Ummah. We reject terrorism, vigilantism and reckless calls to violence.

Islamic foundations

05Does JAMA3A follow a particular madhhab or Sunni approach?

JAMA3A does not require members to follow one particular madhhab. Muslims from any of the four Sunni schools of law are welcome, as are Salafis and Sufis who share our mission and standards of conduct. Our common foundation is the Qur’an and Sunnah, with respect for established Islamic scholarship.

06Is JAMA3A Ashʿarī, Māturīdī or Atharī?

JAMA3A does not define itself by one of these theological labels. We are an Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamāʿah organisation and want people from different Sunni scholarly traditions to work together on our shared aims.

07Can people with different beliefs join?

Anyone can read, watch and engage with our public work. Membership and contributor roles are for Muslims who share JAMA3A’s Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamāʿah foundations and support its mission. We assess applicants as individuals, including how they work with others.

Our work & membership

08Who writes or reviews JAMA3A’s content?

Our research and media contributors develop the work. We aim to ground religious claims in the Qur’an, Sunnah and recognised scholarship, and to check historical and contemporary claims against reliable sources. Questions requiring specialist religious knowledge should be reviewed with qualified scholars.

09How does JAMA3A handle disagreements or mistakes?

Serious disagreement deserves evidence and respectful discussion. If we make a factual mistake, we welcome corrections and will review the work and amend it where needed.

10What do the three divisions do?

The Think Tank researches and develops ideas. Media turns those ideas into clear, engaging work. Outreach builds relationships and connects people with the project.

11What are the three ways to be part of JAMA3A?

Contributor: Support the mission when you can, without a regular commitment. You might help with a particular project or offer your skills from time to time. Active member: Take part more regularly in projects and activities, with a flexible commitment that fits your availability. Core member: Hold a defined role or responsibility, attend meetings regularly and help carry JAMA3A’s ongoing work forward. All three share the same mission; the difference is the level of commitment.

12How do I join?

Choose the division that best matches your skills and submit an application through the website. The team will review it and contact applicants it wants to speak with further. Applying does not guarantee a role or membership.
